A WAHVE worker who once mentored a young underwriter now sees that now-experienced insurance professional passing along his own guidance to the next generation.

Nancy Werner, a wahve who works as a commercial lines rater for Westrope, was recently featured in an INsurance magazine article published on the website of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC).  Nancy works as a commercial lines rater for Westrope, ranked 7th in Business Insurance’s top 10 U.S. wholesale brokers and a part of Ryan Specialty Group, LLC.

The article, headlined “Everyone Benefits from Mentoring,” tells the story of Terence Baker, product manager with Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Co., who was mentored by Nancy when they both worked at agency Gresham & Associates in Indiana.

WAHVE has a number of carrier clients, and they tell us that they benefit from the experience and expertise that vintage insurance professionals can bring them. In Nancy Werner’s case, she’s got 41 years of experience in the transportation coverage specialty, with strong knowledge of insurance lines such as commercial auto liability, physical damage and cargo, as well as quoting, systems, rating and online quote entry.

Werner’s experience in the insurance agency world has run the gamut from customer service to underwriting to sales to agency management. She even owned an agency for a time before relocating to be near family and friends and enter a “pretirement” phase by working with WAHVE.
